La Bajada Hill

Northern New Mexico

It's a good thing we got a good night's sleep, because the next day, we went for a long walk up La Bajada Hill, which is a mesa between Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico. A long, gravel road goes up the mesa. It was part of Route 66 a long time ago, before they built nice, smooth, straight, concrete roads.

A prickly situation.

It's a long hike, but there are all kinds of interesting things to sniff on the way up. Just be careful what you sniff. ...

Poor Kadji.

It's a good thing I didn't see this before we hiked up the hill! The cross says "Kadji PUPPY DOG" ... is this a DOG's grave? I don't think this is a very good place to go hiking!

Ron says poor Kadji probably died from eating too many treats on Route 66.

I don't think Ron is very funny.
